South Frontenac Township to Create Time Capsule
The Township of South Frontenac is celebrating Canada's 150th by putting together a time capsule that will be buried at Centennial Park in Harrowsmith later this year.
Residents are being encouraged to submit items to be included in the time capsule, which will be opened in 50 years, for Canada's Bicentennial.
"This is a great way to engage the entire community for this milestone in our history", says South Frontenac Mayor Ron Vandewal, contributor to the time capsule project.
"In 50 years, the residents of South Frontenac will look back on this moment in time and see the spirit and sense of pride for our community".
Mayor Vandewal will be including a letter to the future mayor of South Frontenac.
Items will be collected from now until November 1, and can be dropped off at Town Hall in Sydenham in the Recreation Department.
