Southern Ontario Braces for Major Snowstorm

Snowplows are already working hard as Southern Ontario braces for a snowstorm that is expected to dump 15 to 25 centimetres of the white stuff on our area.

As a result, Environment Canada has issued a Winter Storm Warning for us, saying snow will be heavy at times, but is expected to taper off Wednesday morning.

10 centimetres is expected to fall during the day Tuesday, with another 10 centimetres forecast for Tuesday night.

Strong winds will whip up the freshly fallen snow which could result in dangerous traveling conditions.

Police remind motorists they will need to adjust their driving habits to the changing road conditions; see snow, go slow.

The storm is already being blamed for a handful of collisions in our area on the 401.

A two vehicle collision slowed down traffic on the eastbound 401 at Division St. around 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday while a left lane was blocked by a single vehicle collision westbound at Montreal St.
