Spring Ahead an Hour This Weekend

This is the weekend when we spring ahead for Daylight Saving Time.

When you move your clocks ahead an hour before going to bed on Saturday night, Kingston Fire and Rescue also want you to change the batteries in your smoke and carbon monoxide alarms.

"When you are replacing batteries this weekend, also think about how old your smoke and CO alarms are. Keep track of their age and make sure you replace them at least every 10 years," says Paul Patry, chief fire prevention officer.

Keep in mind that functioning smoke alarms must be on every storey of your home and outside sleeping areas.
