Striking College Faculty to Vote on Contract Offer Next Week

The chair of the Ontario colleges' bargaining team is repeating the call for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union to suspend the strike in the lead-up to a vote on the latest contract offer.
Sonia Del Missier says the suspension will allow the 500,000 students to return to class and not lose another week of studies

Missier also announced on Tuesday that the Ontario Labour Relations Board ordered the faculty vote to be held from November 14 to November 16.
OPSEU has said there are no plans to suspend the almost month-long labour disruption.

OPSEU president Smokey Thomas says the council should return to the bargaining table while the labour board prepares for the vote.
The colleges bargaining team says the council has addressed the union's concerns about job security, wages and academic freedom.
