Teen Arrested for Alleged Drug Trafficking

A  Kingston man, 19, has been arrested for alleged drug trafficking after a vehicle stop.

An officer pulled over a vehicle last week at Bath and Palace Roads,  found three people inside,  and detected a strong odour of marijuana.

Everyone in the vehicle was arrested and during a search of a passengers backpack, officers discovered hundreds of small empty blue bags, digital scales, imodium tablets, about $3,000 in cash, two large zip lock bags of suspected marijuana, and several sandwich sized baggies containing suspected cocaine.

The driver and second passenger were released unconditionally, while the accused was held for a bail hearing.

He's been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, and possession of property obtained by crime.

The total amount of product seized includes over 225 grams of marijuana, and more 30 grams of cocaine.
