Teen Charged with Assault Following School Lockdown
An aggressive student is to blame for a lockdown at LCVI and Calvin Park Thursday afternoon.
A hold and secure was put in place just before 2:00 p.m. but was lifted by 2:40 p.m.
Most classes did continue as normal, and students were eventually dismissed to catch buses.
However, some students were unable to retrieve their belongings, which were safely secured.
The Limestone District School board says the hold and secure measure was taken as a result of an incident inside the school.
The student involved was taken into Police custody and was charged with three counts of assault, damage to property and resisting arrest.
Police say those charges relate to the assault of three different staff members at the school.
The student has only been identified as an 18 year-old man.
