Thomas Street Fire Causes Major Damage

Damage is estimated at $140,000 following a fire on Thomas Street.

Kingston Fire and Rescue were called the two unit house just before 12:30 p.m. Sunday, and were met with heavy smoke and flames at the rear of the building.

Three pumpers and an Ladder were on scene for several hours to extinguish hot spots in the walls and crawlspace areas.

Everyone inside was able to get out safely and the cause is under investigation.

Kingston Fire and Rescue Acting Platoon Chief Scott Morrison, did send out a note reminding residents to keep their dryer vent clean and ensure that it is properly vented to the outside.
