UPDATE: Attempted Murder Suspects Apprehended

Kingston Police have arrested both suspects wanted in relation to two violent assaults in the city.

Around 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday, the 17 year-old suspect was arrested in the area of John Counter and Montreal following a short foot pursuit.

At 5:20 p.m., a patrol officer spotted the second suspect, Josh Owen Simpson, 19, in the area of Montreal and Raglan, and he was arrested without incident.

Police say a man was found severely beaten in an alley behind First Avenue on Monday evening and that he remains in hospital in critical condition.

Another man was assaulted early Tuesday morning after the suspects entered a home on Newmarket Lane.

Both teens face charges of attempted murder, aggravated assault and robbery.

Investigators say both the suspects and the victims were known to one another, and that it was not a random attack.
