Water Search Continues for Missing Boy

The search continues for a young boy who went missing in the St. Lawrence River.
The search began Saturday afternoon after officers responded to a report of a possible drowning west of the village of Rockport.
Witnesses say five people were thrown into the water when their boat capsized.

Four people were rescued, but the boy, 11, failed to resurface.

The boy is from Ottawa and had been vacationing with his family at the time of the accident

The OPP, the Rescue Coordination Centre at CFB Trenton, Canadian Coast Guard and the Leeds and Thousand Islands Fire Department all responded, along with members of the RCMP who had been in the area.

The search is expected to continue Tuesday morning, with assistance from the OPP Underwater Search and Recovery Unit.

OPP say alcohol was not a factor in the incident.
