Celebrity Gossip: Ocean's 8, Dwayne Johnson, RHOC and More!
WHY MATT DAMON’S OCEAN’S 8 CAMEO WAS CUT: So many cameos, so little time. Between Katie Holmes, Kim Kardashian and the leading ladies (Rihanna, Anne Hathaway, Cate Blanchett, Sandra Bullock, et al), it’s easier to figure out who in Hollywood didn’t make it in. And that would be … Matt Damon. Director Gary Ross told The Hollywood Reporter that leaving one of the O.G. Ocean boys on the cutting room floor was tough, but it had to be done. "There were a lot of people who were gracious to us that just for editorial and storytelling reasons didn't make it in and some who did. We ended up shooting probably another 10 days afterwards, so there's a lot of material and a lot of shaping. It really just comes to storytelling."(The Hollywood Reporter — Click our Twitter or Facebook buttons to share this link!)
DWAYNE JOHNSON FEEDS GF PASTA AS SHE NURSES THEIR BABY: Breast-feeding moms need extra calories and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson wants to make sure girlfriend Lauren Hashian’s are delicious. The 46-year-old shared a shot of himself spooning pasta into Hashian’s mouth as she nursed their 7-week-old baby Tiana. “I’ll handle this business,” Johnson captioned his Instagram post. “Mama @laurenhashianofficial has her hands full nursing/feeding baby Tia, so I’m feedin’ mama her dinner. My pleasure. So much respect to her and all mamas out there holding it down and running things.”
RHOC INTRODUCES NEW CASTMEMBERS: Newbies Emily Simpson and Gina Kirschenheiter will join the Real Housewives of Orange County cast when it returns for its 13thseason, E! reports. They will join Vicki Gunvalson, Tamra Judge, Shannon Beador and Kelly Dodd. Per Bravo, Gina is an “expressive outsider from Long Island [who] is shaking up Southern California and its politically correct Orange County ways.” She has three kids under the age of five. Meanwhile, “A true rags-to-riches story, Emily is an Ohio transplant who came from nothing and willed herself to great success to become an attorney, a part-time party-planner, a wife and a mom.” Emily’s sister Sarah has served as surrogate for her three children. The show returns to Bravo this summer.
CRIME WAVE HITS MARVEL UNIVERSE: Villains are pilfering iconic Marvel treasures, including an Iron Man suit valued at $325K, a shield from Captain America and claws from Logan, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Sales of Lucasfilm and Marvel collectibles have reached $400 million a year. Costume makers are now weaving DNA into the garb for tracking purposes.
DC ENTERTAINMENT HEAD IS OUT: Geoff Johns is relinquishing his duties as president of DC Entertainment. (Another president at DC, Diane Nelson, also stepped down last week). He is staying close though. Johns is reportedly moving over to a more creative role at Warner Bros., and will write a long-delayed Green Lantern reboot. One of two co-publishers of DC, Jim Lee, has been named the new CCO, but TBD who the new president will be.
