REESE WITHERSPOON CONFIRMS LEGALLY BLONDE 3 IS A GO: What, like it’s hard? Reese Witherspoon has confirmed long-standing rumors that Legally Blonde 3 is going forward. She wrote on Instagram: "It's true...#LegallyBlonde3." Witherspoon captioned a video of herself as Elle Woods wearing a sequined pink bikini and floating in a pool a la her famous Harvard audition video. (E! NEW TRAILER FOR GIRL IN THE SPIDER’S WEB DROPS: Claire Foy has the dragon tattoo now. Sony’s The Girl in the Spider’s Web has Foy (recently Queen Elizabeth in The Crown) taking on the role of Lisbeth Salander. Fede Álvarez is directing the film, based on the first book in the Stieg Larsson series not actually written by him. The Web unfurls in theaters November 9th.

J.J. ABRAMS AND ZACHARY QUINTO BRINGING US TAB & TONY: Tab & Tony, from J.J. Adams and Zachary Quinto, is set to depict the secret romance between Tab Hunter and Anthony Perkins, a love affair that coincided with their rise to Hollywood stardom in the 1950s and 60s. The story will be based on Hunter’s personal account of his relationship with the Psycho star, who died in 1992.

VAL KILMER RETURNING TO TOP GUN: Val Kilmer is flying back into one of his most iconic roles. Kilmer is set to reprise his role as Iceman for Top Gun: Maverick, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed. Tom Cruise is also returning for the long-awaited sequel to the 1986 classic Top Gun. Cruise recently tweeted a photo announcing production had kicked off. Joseph Kosinski is helming, and Jerry Bruckheimer and Cruise are producing.

TERMINATOR VR EXPERIENCE TO OPEN: Startup Spaces is developing a Terminator Genisys-themed location-based VR experience. Details are scant, but locations will open in the U.S.— including in L.A. and San Jose—and internationally. Theater chain Cinemark will also provide locations. According to the announcement of the project, "teams of guests will help save humanity from an insidious villain of mankind’s own making: Skynet — moving through the world around them, feeling the thunderous explosions, the rush of wind from airships and the thrill of ultimate victory." The location-based VR market could reach $1 billion by the end of the year, according to Greenlight Insights, per The Hollywood Reporter.
