REESE WITHERSPOON LAUNCHING VOD CHANNEL: After her successes with HBO’s Big Little Lies and Facebook Watch's Meet My Mom, she is continuing her female-focused programming with a video-on-demand channel. She and her Hello Sunshine shingle are launching a Hello Sunshine subscription channel with AT&T's DirecTV, DirecTV Now and U-Verse. The first series, Shine On With Reese, will launch July 17th and feature conversations with high-profile Hollywood women at their homes. A Wrinkle In Time director Ava DuVernay and Dolly Parton will appear, along with author Glennon Doyle and World Cup champion Abby Wambach. “I am thrilled to have such like-minded creative collaborators at AT&T to help Hello Sunshine pursue our mission of elevating and showcasing the voices of women that we have such admiration and respect for,” Witherspoon said in a statement. 

THE STORY OF THE ROYALS GETS PREMIERE DATE: As the story behind the rise of Suits star-turned-duchess Meghan Markle continues to obsess the world, ABC sets the premiere date for The Story of the Royals. The four-hour docuseries will air at 9 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday August 22-23rd. A co-production of ABC, People and Four M Studios, the show will document key moments in the history of the royal family by posing a question: How did we get here? The series will follow loves, losses, eccentricities, challenges and delights. Last year’s The Story of Diana, about the life and legacy of the late Princess of Wales aired over two nights in August last year and won its time slot in ratings. GAME OF THRONES SPINOFF SET TO FILM IN BELFAST IN OCTOBER: The filming for George R.R. Martin’s recently greenlit Game of Thrones prequel is gearing up. Filming will begin in Belfast in October. The working title is The Long Night, and it is set thousands of years before GOT. The series is described as chronicling “the world’s descent from the golden Age of Heroes into its darkest hour. And only one thing is for sure: from the horrifying secrets of Westeros’ history to the true origin of the white walkers, the mysteries of the East to the Starks of legend… it’s not the story we think we know.”

LIFE ITSELF TRAILER ARRIVES: The first full trailer for the Dan Fogelman-helmed Life Itself has dropped. Life Itself, a multigenerational family drama made by Amazon Studios, follows the story of a New York couple’s life, marriage, kids and the manner in which they choices they make reverberate across lifetimes. Fogelman is best known for NBC’s This Is Us. Life Itself stars Oscar Isaac, Olivia Wilde, Antonio Banderas, Annette Bening, Olivia Cooke and several others. The film hits theaters September 21st
