Ron Howard Vents About Solo Box Office
Director Ron Howard is not happy about the tepid turnout for Solo: A Star Wars Story. Despite getting positive reviews, the film has struggled at the box office.
Solo earned $176 million domestically in its first 17 days at the box office, less than half of what Rogue One, the previous Star Wars standalone made in the same time frame, according to Indie Wire.
- In addition to being a part of one of the most successful movie universes of all time, Solo has quite the cast, starring Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson and Thandie Newton, among many others.
- Howard, noting the slump, took to Twitter to address the issue.
- “As a director I feel badly when people who I believe (& exit polls show) will very likely enjoy a movie... don’t see it on a big screen w/great sound.”
- He also thanked and retweeted messages from fans who loved the movie.
