Celebrity Gossip: John Schneider, Allison Mack, Clay Harbor and More!
JOHN SCHNEIDER SPEAKS OUT BEFORE HEADING TO JAIL: Just before he turned himself in to serve his sentence, John Schneider spoke to Fox News. The Dukes of Hazzard star was sentenced to three days in jail for failing to pay his estranged wife Elvira Castle alimony. He claims he has hit hard times and doesn’t have the cash. "I'm disheartened with the system but my head's up, and I'm going to go do what I have to do and make it through the next couple of days," the actor told Fox News exclusively. "It's common sense versus entitlement. I've worked seven days a week, 80 hours a week, at least since 1978. I have, as every working person has, a mountain of debt that was attached to my dream. And there's a group now that somehow feels they're entitled to life or even luxury without work and the judicial system apparently agrees with that." Schneider and Castle married in 1993; she filed for divorce in 2014. They share three children together, two of whom were Castle’s from a previous marriage.
NXIVM SHUTS DOWN FOLLOWING ALLISON MACK’S ARREST: Alleged sex cult Nxivm has shut down, according to People. The magazine cited a message on their website that reads: "we are suspending all Nxivm/ESP enrollment, curriculum and events until further notice." The message was posted following the April arrest of Smallville alum Allison Mack for sex trafficking and forced labor, but it is unclear when it was posted. The message continues: "While we are disappointed by the interruption of our operations, we believe it is warranted by the extraordinary circumstances facing the company at this time. We continue to believe in the value and importance of our work and look forward to resuming our efforts when these allegations are resolved." Mack pleaded not guilty, along with the group’s founder, Keith Reniere, who was also charged with sex trafficking and forced labor.
CLAY HARBOR OPENS UP ABOUT LEAVING THE BACHELORETTE: NFL player Clay Harbor left The Bachelorette Monday night after injuring his wrist during a group football date. The irony wasn’t lost on him. "I got injured playing football on The Bachelorette," he said. "That's pretty funny." While he earned a rose from Becca Kufrin, Clay, 30, ultimately chose to leave so he could have surgery and hopefully continue playing ball. (He is a free agent right now). He took to Twitter after the show to thank everyone for their support and the opportunity, writing: "I have to thank the whole @BacheloretteABC family for an amazing experience in hindsight I don’t regret my decision to come on and would gladly give my wrist for a chance at love."
VINCE VAUGHN LOOKS CAREFREE AFTER DUI BUST: A day after Vince Vaughn was arrested for DUI in California, the Old School star was spotted out in Manhattan Beach grabbing snacks and posing for a selfie with a fan. The Swingers star also grinned in this mugshot. He was arrested early Sunday (along with his passenger) for driving under the influence and resisting arrest at a routine police checkpoint. Both men were released after posting bail.
