Celine Dion Announces 'Courage World Tour' & New Album
Celine Dion is heading out on the road and releasing new music.
Dion made the announcement during a Facebook Live event at the Ace Hotel on Wednesday in Los Angeles. The tour will be her first in over 10 years.
"I’m so grateful to all the fans who have come to see my show in Las Vegas for so many years, and now I get the chance to create a brand new show and bring it to them in North America, and around the world. I’m very excited about this tour, and my new album…coming later this year," she said.
"The biggest news today, is I will be driving the bus on tour," she joked.
She closed out the announcement event with a Q&A, as well as special performances of "I’m Alive," "Ashes" and "My Heart Will Go On." She also told the crowd that she worked on the new album with Sia.
One fan asked her why she chose to name the album Courage and Celine said: "I think I went through a lot. And life had given me the tools… to find my inner strength, to find courage, and to keep going," Celine said. "The people that I love so much embraced the moments that were difficult. They gave me so much strength. And then a song came that was called "Courage," and it didn’t take long for all of us to say, ‘I think the album should be called Courage.’"
The Courage World Tour kicks off on September 18th in Quebec City and will stop in over 50 cities. The first round of dates go on-sale on April 12th.
