Does Johnny Depp Have Evidence Amber Heard Staged a 911 Call?
Johnny Depp’s legal team is planning to file evidence that shows discrepancies in the emergency call placed to the LAPD on behalf of his then-wife on May 21, 2016, The Blast reports.
The call, infamously, accused Depp of abusing Amber Heard. Her friend allegedly placed the call. Heard previously testified that she was on the phone with iO Tillett Wright when Depp attacked her, and Wright heard the abuse being. In their own testimony, Wright reportedly said: "I then heard Amber crying in fear and begging Johnny to stop his attack, thereafter I heard Amber scream out ‘Call 911’ before the call got disconnected. I called 911 to save Amber’s life."
Depp’s legal team claims they’ve obtained logs from that night that show Wright waited an hour and a half to call police; they also obtained video surveillance that reportedly shows him leaving his apartment in L.A. at 8:30 pm. The call was made at 10 p.m.
His lawyers claim that in the intervening time, Heard and Wright were ginning up fake stories, The Blast reports.
Police did respond to the call, and reportedly did not find signs of abuse.
