Doug Supernaw Diagnosed With Stage IV Cancer
Doug Supernaw has been diagnosed with Stage IV lung and bladder cancer. The "I Don't Call Him Daddy" singer is currently hospitalized and working with doctors to determine a course of treatment, according to a post on his official Facebook page. The post shares that Supernaw suffered a "prolonged cough," and was admitted to a hospital in Houston, TX with an initial diagnosis of pneumonia. Further tests showed fluid on Supernaw's heart and lungs, and a "suspicious mass" in his right lung. Later testing confirmed several masses in his lungs, lymph nodes, bones and bladder.
According to Supernaw's Facebook page, the 58-year-old "remains in the hospital, awaiting more testing, while determining a treatment path."
His latest project was a greatest hits compilation, which was released in the spring of 2017 and included two new songs.
