Florida Georgia Line Doesn't View Fellow ACM Duo Nominees As Competition
Florida Georgia Line, Dan + Shay, LoCash, Brothers Osborne and Maddie & Tae are all competing for ACM Duo of the Year at Sunday's (April 7th) Academy of Country Music Awards. While they'd all freely admit they want to walk away with the trophy, FGL's Tyler Hubbard tells us he and Brian Kelley are happy for the success of any one of those acts. "I don’t know if I feel too much of the competition, personally, with the other duos. I mean I genuinely feel like in this genre it really does kind of feel like a big family. At the end of the day there’s not too many people that can really relate a hundred and ten percent to be BK and I’s lifestyle except Dan and Shay, except Chris and Preston, and guys like that. So, really the bond is there and it’s really cool and especially for good guys like that. Like we just root ‘em on and we want them to win and I don’t feel a ton of competition necessarily."
In addition to Duo of the Year, Florida Georgia Line are nominated for Musical Event and Single of the Year for "Meant to Be" with Bebe Rexha. Tyler and Brian are scheduled to perform along with Jason Aldean during the show. The ACM Awards will air live from Las Vegas on CBS beginning at 8 p.m. ET.
