Foreigner is the latest of rock's legendary bands to announce a string of Las Vegas dates. The band will perform at The Venetian Theatre inside The Venetian Resort Las Vegas over two stands in 2020; the first will feature shows on January 24th, 25th, 29th, and 31st, along with a February 1st run closer. The second stand sees the band taking the stage on April 17th, 18th, 22nd, 24th, and 25th.

Current frontman Kelly Hansen spoke about the upcoming shows to Billboard, and touched upon why Foreigner still resonates so strongly with its fans, explaining, "I think it has to do with the quality of the songs. If you take a look at Foreigner's catalog, there are 16 top 30 hits, and (in planning a show like this) the problem becomes what songs do you leave out. Do you do some songs acoustically or do you give them all the classic presentation? These are all discussions that we have in creating a set list, but you're definitely going to hear all of the big ones for sure."

Hansen went on to say that the Vegas crowd provides a unique experience for the band: "Normally we'll go to a specific place (and our audience is local) and we do have fans that travel the world to see us. But (Vegas) is very much a melting pot entertainment crowd."

2019 marks the 35th anniversary of Foreigner's 1984 Agent Provocateur album and the band's sole Number One single, "I Want To Know What Love Is." Founding member Mick Jones shed light on writing rock's ultimate '80s power ballad: "There was sadness in that song. Y'know, there's some really, kind of, private, personal pieces of my story in there, let's say. I've always enjoyed playing it; there's something about the chord patterns -- there's a slightly classical feel to it. It is one of my favorites, so. . . and 'I Want To Know What Love Is' is representative of the period where it started to go a little weird between Lou (Gramm) and I. But, now, when I look back, y'know, I guess that was yesterday."
