SOULJA BOY’S HOME BURGLARIZED WHILE HE’S IN JAIL: Soulja Boy’s home was robbed while the rapper is currently in jail after violating his probation. According to Rap-Up, a caretaker called the police on Monday night (April 15th) to report the robbery at the rapper’s Agoura Hill, California home. TMZ reports that the robbers made off with money, a phone and jewelry. The stolen jewelry is reportedly valued at $500,000 and included chains, earrings and watched. They also cleaned out the safe in Soulja’s room, and made out with $100,000 cash. The suspects allegedly used Soulja’s stolen iPhone to brag about the robbery. A group of five men took over the rapper’s Instagram Live and spoke about the theft. They even reached out to Soulja’s celebrity friends, claiming to be new artists and asked for features while trying to get their videos posted on their Instagram pages. Soulja remains behind bars.
NO RAPPERS INCLUDED IN TIME’S 100 MOST INFLUENTIAL PEOPLE OF 2019: Time Magazine released their annual 100 Most Influential People list, however, not one rapper made the cut for 2019. According to XXL Mag, the list includes artists such as Khalid, Taylor Swift, BTS, Ozuna and Ariana Grande. In the past, Kendrick Lamar, Nicki Minaj, Kanye West, JAY-Z and Beyonce, Chance The Rapper and Childish Gambino all made the list. Last year, Cardi B and Virgil Abloh were named.
RUSSELL SIMMONS SAYS SEXUAL ASSAULT CASE IS A PLOY FOR FAME: During a recent interview with HipHopDx, Russell Simmons says that the 1988 sexual assault claims made against him are a ploy for fame. According to the site, the anonymous woman who accused Simmons of sexual assault 20+ years ago claims that he fled the United States and settles in Bali to avoid extradition. Simmons responded to the clams and told HipHopDx, "I have no intention of getting in the mud with this woman or feeding her lawyers’ interest in gaining fame, space or ground into this incredibly lucrative practice of extortion. People ask how could anonymous person seek fame. It’s the lawyer who is seeking fame and that’s why we are seeking sanctions against him." The anonymous woman is suing him for $10 million.
MOTHER OF XXXTENTATION’S CHILD DEMANDS DNA TO ESTABLISH PATERNITY: According to The Blast, XXXTentation’s baby mama is asking the court to order the medical examiner to supply DNA samples of the late rapper to help her complete a DNA test. Jenesis Sanchez filed a petition to determine paternity of XXX’s estate. Sanchez explained that she and X lived together and "sexual relations during the time that Gekyume was conceived from February 19 through June 18 2018, the day of the Decedent’s death." DJ KHALED TO PERFORM AT ‘SNL’ FINALE: DJ Khaled will be making his debut as a musical guest on the season finale of Saturday Night Live. 'SNL' announced on Wednesday (April 17th) that Khaled will perform on May 18th, while Paul Rudd will act as host.
