IT'S ALWAYS SUNNY HAS NO END IN SIGHT: It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia is set for its 14th season on FX, tying ABC's The Adventures of Ozzie and Harriet as the longest-running live-action comedy series. And there's no end in sight. "It's completely up to them. We will absolutely make more seasons of Sunny if the gang chooses to make more seasons of Sunny," FX Networks Chairman John Landgraf told Deadline at TCA. Creator Rob McElhenney, Glenn Howerton and Charlie Day executive produce and star in It's Always Sunny, which also stars Kaitlin Olson and Danny DeVito.
THE KINGMAKER TO BOW AT VENICE: Showtime's The Kingmaker, a biopic about the Marcos family's long and controversial reign in the Philippines, will bow at the Venice Film Festival. The doc is helmed by Lauren Greenfield, and will explore the Marcos' history ofcorruption, extravagance and brutality. It will feature interviews with Imelda Marcos, who is now 90 and continues to influence politics there. The film will be released in theaters this fall and debut on Showtime in early 2020.
JOHN LANDGRAF DEFENDS AMERICAN CRIME STORY TIMING: FX chairman John Landgraf is defending the timing of the third season of Impeachment: American Crime Story, which is slated to drop September, 2020 in the middle of the Presidential election. "The idea that we can't have art, we can't have nuance is toxic in the media environment. I believe very, very strongly in the art we're making. I don't think ‘Crime Story' is going to decide the next presidential election. I think that's a little hysterical from my standpoint. I'm insistent that I'm going to support artists and make great art and put it in the time and place where people are going to watch it," Landgraf said during the network's Television Critics Association summer press tour. Beanie Feldstein will star as Monica Lewinsky, with Sarah Paulson as Linda Tripp and Annaleigh Ashford as Paula Jones.
DISNEY+ SHARES REBOOTS, PRICING: Disney+ is gearing up for its streaming service debut. Set the launch in November, it will feature classics, plus several "reimaginings" of classics like Home Alone, Night at the Museum, Diary of a Wimpy Kid and Cheaper by the Dozen, Disney's president Bob Iger said. Pricing will be $12.99 per month.
