EMILIA CLARKE TO STAR IN LET ME COUNT THE WAYS: Game of ThronesEmilia Clarke is set to play the poet Elizabeth Barrett in Let Me Count the Ways, with Bjorn Runge directing the love story. The film, which is set in the mid-19thcentury, will follow the true story of her love affair with playwright Robert Browning.

NBC PICKS UP COUNCIL OF DADS, CW ORDERS BATWOMAN: NBC has given a series order to the drama pilot Council of Dads, from Doubt creators Joan Rater and Tony Phelan, Jerry Bruckheimer Television and Universal TV. Dads, starring Sarah Wayne Callies, Clive Standen, Tom Everett Scott and J. August Richards, marks NBC’s third new series pickup for next season, joining legal drama Bluff City Law starring Jimmy Smits and Kal Penn’s immigrant comedy Sunnyside. Meanwhile on the CW, Batwoman, Katy Keen and Nancy Drew all got picked up for series.

ANDREW GARFIELD TO STAR IN INSTRUMENTAL: Andrew Garfield is teaming up with Oscar-winner James Marsh for the biopic Instrumental. The film is based on the true story of acclaimed pianist James Rhodes, and will draw on material from his memoir. In his memoir, Rhodes revealed how music saved his life after suffering sexual abuse as a student, and being plagued by eating disorders, PTSD and spinal damage after the attack.

SERIES ON COLLEGE SCANDAL IN THE WORKS: A TV series based on the recent college admissions scandal that swept up Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin is in the works, Variety reports. Annapurna Television has optioned the rights to the upcoming book Accepted, by Melissa Korn and Jennifer Levitz. The book will be published by Portfolio, a division of Penguin Random House. In March, three dozen people were indicted by the FBI for (among other things) paying large sums of money to secure their children’s placement in top-rated schools.
