VICE TRAILER DROPS: Christian Bale is in Dick Cheney mode in Adam McKay’s biopic Vice, and the resemblance is uncanny in the latest trailer. The film also stars Amy Adams as Lynne Cheney, Steve Carell as Donald Rumsfeld and Sam Rockwell as a George W. Bush. Vice drops at Christmas. MISCHA BARTON JOINS THE HILLS: MTV’s reboot of The Hills is welcoming O.C. alum Mischa Barton to the dance floor. She joins Brody Jenner, Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt and Audrina Patridge, Page Six reports. "She was around back in the day and went to all the clubs," our insider said. "She could make for good TV." THE NUN’S CORIN HARDY TO HELM GANGS OF LONDON: The Nun director Corin Hardy is set to take on the thriller Gangs of London for Cinemax and Sky Atlantic. The drama will launch in 2019 and is based in contemporary London. FREE SCREENINGS SET FOR RBG: Magnolia Pictures and Participant Media will offer free screenings of this year’s sleeper hit RBG, a biopic about Supreme Court justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg. The entertainment juggernauts are teaming up with Rock the Vote, the ACLU and others to offer screenings on October 29thin California, Florida and Texas. NATALIE PORTMAN’S VOX LUX TO OPEN AUSTIN FILM FEST: Natalie Portman’s Vox Lux will open the Austin Film Festival and Writers Conference on October 25th, Variety reports. The Brady Corbett-helmed and written drama premiered at the 75th Venice International Film Festival on Sept. 4 and will be released on Dec. 7 by Neon. The film follows Portman’s character as she grapples with teenage stardom, tragedy, scandal and (later) parenthood.
