Karlie Kloss Talks Feminism, Trump

Supermodel Karlie Kloss is opening up to British Vogue about her decision to cut ties with Victoria’s Secret, and what it’s really like being President Donald Trump’s in-law.

As it turns out, Karlie opted out of her deal with Victoria’s Secret because of her feminist principles.

She tells Vogue: "The reason I decided to stop working with Victoria’s Secret was I didn’t feel it was an image that was truly reflective of who I am and the kind of message I want to send to young women around the world about what it means to be beautiful. I think that was a pivotal moment in me stepping into my power as a feminist, being able to make my own choices and my own narrative, whether through the companies I choose to work with, or through the image I put out to the world."

Last month, Karlie and Joshua Kushner, who got married in October, celebrated their marriage with a long weekend in Wyoming. Not that their young marriage has been easy. Joshua’s brother, of course, is Jared Kushner, husband of Ivanka, daughter of Donald. Jared also works as a close adviser to the president.

Says Karlie, who is a Democrat: "It’s been hard. But I choose to focus on the values that I share with my husband, and those are the same liberal values that I was raised with and that have guided me throughout my life."
