Lil Kim Cancels Press Appearances Due To 'Messy' Reporters
Lil Kim is calling for respect to be put on her name. During a recent Instagram Live session, the Queen Bee revealed that she has canceled all of her upcoming press appearances because of "messy" reporters.
Kim explained, "One of the reasons it’s not happening is because two of the major outlets wanted to be messy. And my publicist and my manager made the executive decision to shut it down. At this point, it’s about me. I’m that b*tch, nothing else. I refuse to fu**ing keep doing all of these interviews, publications, and all of that sh*t if motherfu**ers is not gonna respect who I am, what I’ve done, where I’m at now. Put some fu**ing respect on my name. Period."
Kim said that she was due to appear on a series of TV shows, including Today, Access Hollywood and Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live. She revealed that she decided to axe the appearances because of something Andy Cohen did, which she chose not to explain in detail. She did, however, hint that the show wanted to use her to spark controversy.
Kim continued, "I have a cool relationship with Andy, which I thought, but…I know y’all. Some of my fans, y’all get on my nerves. I love y’all, but y’all get on my nerves. Y’all don’t be understanding, sh*t be deeper than what y’all fu**ing know. If y’all don’t see me doing press, if y’all don’t see me doing certain things, it’s ’cause I’m fighting. I’m fu**ing fighting. I’m not fu**ing just about to have motherfu**ers not put respect on my name. So don’t act stupid. Don’t start asking all these dumb questions."
She later added, "It be these motherfu**ers trying to use me and my iconic status to get a moment. F**k that, I’m the moment. I’m that b*tch just like I said. I’m tired of this sh*t. It be big sh*t going down when I decline something or when I say I’m not doing something. It be corporate meetings and all types of sh*t, y’all have no idea."
Kim’s album, 9, was due to be released on May 17th. However, she told fans that it is "coming real, real soon."
Her VH1 show, Girls Cruise, with Mya and Chilli of TLC premieres on July 15th.
