Meghan Markle Fans Defend Her From Outrage Over Archie's Private Christening
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor will reportedly be christened on Saturday, July 6th, two months after his May 6th birth.
Harry and Meghan are reportedly planning on a private christening at Windsor Castle’s St. George’s Chapel, where they married in May 2018. The exclusive guest list reportedly includes Kate Middleton, Prince William, Prince Charles, Camilla, the Duchess of Cornwall and Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland. The Queen is not expected to attend.
Archie’s godparents have not been announced, though Meghan’s good friend Serena Williams has been floated as a possibility. The couple will reportedly also release their own photo after the christening, instead of allowing the media to have access to the event.
Some critics accuse the pair of taking public money while demanding privacy, and Piers Morgan sniped they only use the press "when it suits them."
But several social media users defended the pair. Wrote one: "The only ones moaning about Archie's christening being private are the haters, don't worry you lot will be able to criticise Archie's looks, skin tone and compare him to his cambridge cousins when official photos from the day are made public," while another told haters, "don’t project your bitterness."
Another opined: "What is this anti Megan & Harry agenda about. Media intrusion killed his mother, who can blame Harry wanting to protect his family. Frogmore cottage was renovated using existing royal funds. We weren't charged extra."
