Pink To Receive Prestigious Award At The BRITs
Pink has had one heck of a week: She got her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, announced a new single and album, and now she’s been tapped to receive a prestigious honor from the BRIT Awards.
The singer will receive the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the U.K.’s equivalent of the Grammys, making her the first non-British artist to receive the prize.
"I am so honored to be recognized with the Outstanding Contribution to Music Award at the 2019 BRITs!" Pink said in a statement. "Since the beginning of my career the British fans have been some of the most fierce and loyal in the world. I am humbled to receive this honor and be in the company of an illustrious group of British icons!"
In addition to accepting the award, Pink will also close out the show with a performance. The BRIT Awards 2019 will take place Wednesday, February 20 at the O2 Arena in London.
Pink announced her new single, "Walk Me Home," will be out in two weeks and her new album, Hurts to Be Human, is coming in April. This Sunday, her 2017 album Beautiful Trauma is up for the Best Pop Vocal Album trophy at the Grammy Awards.
She is also set to go on a U.K. stadium tour this summer, with dates starting in June.
