BRITNEY SPEARS FILES FOR PROTECTION AGAINST EX-MANAGER SAM LUTFI: Britney Spears has filed for a temporary restraining order against her former manager Sam Lutfi. The Blast reports that Lutfi has been "sending harassing and threatening texts and tweets to Britney and her family." In legal documents that are being filed in Los Angeles, Britney’s team reportedly implies that Lutfi is involved in the #FreeBritney movement. They say his actions are causing "severe mental trauma." Lutfi was Britney’s manager in the early 2000s and her family reportedly believes that he is responsible for the mental breakdown she suffered in 2008.

MARSHMELLO’S ‘HAPPIER’ ACCUSED OF RIPPING OFF ONEREPUBLIC REMIX: Bastille’s Dan Smith and producer/DJ Marshmello are being sued for copyright infringement over their collaborative hit "Happier." According to the suit, producer Artem "Arty" Stoliarov alleges that "Happier" "deliberately copied" his 2014 remix of the OneRepublic song "I Lived." The suit is not accusing "Happier" of copying the original version "I Lived," but the elements that Arty brought to the song’s remix. Included in the complaint are multiple musical transcriptions that purportedly illustrate which elements "Happier" stole from the remix, such as an "almost identical" repeating synthesizer melody. "Happier" was released August 2018 and peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

JUSTIN BIEBER, ED SHEERAN CONFIRM NEW SINGLE ‘I DON’T CARE’: Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran confirmed they have teamed up on a new single. The two shared details about their new collaboration, "I Don’t Care," Tuesday ahead of the song’s release. Bieber confirmed the title in an Instagram post featuring his and Sheeran’s names. He also confirmed the song will debut Friday. Sheeran had teased snippets of lyrics to the song Monday. Bieber and Sheeran had teased a new collaboration in Instagram posts Sunday and Monday.
