MAROON 5 SEES MAJOR SALES BOOST THANKS TO SUPER BOWL HALFTIME SHOW: The consensus may be that Maroon 5 delivered a lackluster Super Bowl halftime show, but the gig still earned the band a major sales boost. According to Billboard, initial reports from Nielsen Music say Maroon 5’s catalog scored a 488% sales gain on the day of the big game. It climbed from 4,000 in download sales on Saturday to 24,000 on Sunday. The six songs the band performed during the halftime show had an even bigger sales boost: 587%. Combined sales of "Harder to Breathe," "This Love," "Girls Like You," "She Will Be Loved," "Sugar" and "Moves Like Jagger" rose from nearly 3,000 sold on Saturday to 18,000 sold on Sunday. Maroon 5’s special guests for the halftime show, Travis Scott and Big Boi, also saw a bump in sales. Travis’ "Sicko Mode" jumped by 80%, while OutKast’s "The Way You Move" – performed by the duo’s Big Boi – had a massive 3,408% gain.

THE CHAINSMOKERS AND 5 SECONDS OF SUMMER WORKING ON A COLLAB? The Chainsmokers and 5 Seconds of Summer teased a new joint project for Amazon Music which may be titled "Who Do You Love?" In a short video posted to 5SOS’ social media, the guys climb a rocky landscape against a purple sky. They hold up an Alexa-enabled speaker and tell it to "follow The Chainsmokers on Amazon Music." Meanwhile, The Chainsmokers’ Drew Taggart and Alex Pall shared a video of their own featuring the two of them sitting in a studio trying to figure out their next hit. "I just feel like I play the same chords over and over again," Drew says, referencing a popular criticism of the duo. He asks Alex, "What are you listening to right now? Who do you love?" Alex says he’s into 5 Seconds of Summer and Drew tells Alexa to follow them on Amazon Music.
