R. Kelly Pleads Not Guilty In New York Case
R. Kelly has pleaded not guilty to the charges he is facing in New York. According to Complex, the singer was also denied bail. Kelly was joined in New York court by his attorneys Douglas Anton and Steven Greenberg. His girlfriends, Joycelyn Savage and Azriel Clary, were also present, alongside two other family members.
Kelly was transported from Chicago to the Metropolitan Correctional Center in NYC on Thursday (August 1st).
In his New York case, Kelly is being accused of leading a criminal enterprise "to recruit women and girls to engage in illegal sexual activity." He is also being accused of intentionally exposing women to an infectious general disease, and violating the Mann Act — which according to Complex "prohibits the transportation of women and girls across state lines for the purpose of prostitution or any other immoral purpose."
