Roc Nation has stepped in to offer legal aid to the Phoenix family that is accusing police of using excessive force. According to AZ Central, JAY-Z’s entertainment company has reached out to the family to provide legal support, to call for the termination of the police officers in question and to “ensure the well-being of the children.”

Roc Nation Managing Director of Philanthropy Dania Diaz said in a statement, “There is no place for that behavior in our world—let alone our justice system—and we are calling for the immediate termination of the police officers in question. We are committed to supporting the family to ensure that justice is served.”

Dravon Ames and his pregnant fiancéee, Aisha Harper, filed a lawsuit on Thursday, accusing the officers of battery, unlawful imprisonment, false arrest and infliction of emotional distress in a disturbing encounter in which police threatened to shoot their family and inflict bodily harm on Armes and their 1-year-old daughter. They are requesting $2.5 million per family member, which adds up to $10 million.

The couple’s interaction with the police stems from their 4-year-old daughter taking a doll out of a local Family Dollar store.
