The Eagles To Perform Complete 'Hotel California' Album In Las Vegas

The Eagles will perform their 1976 masterpiece Hotel California in its entirety for the first time ever on September 27th and 28th at Las Vegas' at MGM Grand Garden Arena. In addition to the eight-week chart-topper, each night’s concert will also include an additional set of the band’s greatest hits. The Las Vegas dates will mark the Eagles' only 2019 North American appearances. Tickets go on sale to the general public on Friday, April 12th, at 10 a.m. PDT.

Hotel California featured the addition of former James Gang guitarist Joe Walsh, who joined shortly after co-founder Bernie Leadon's 1975 departure. It turned out to be the only Eagles album featuring the lineup of Don Henley, Glenn Frey, Joe Walsh, guitarist Don Felder, and co-founder and bassist Randy Meisner.

Hotel California is now the third best-selling album of all time, having been certified 26-times Platinum by the RIAA for sales and streams of more than 26 million copies.

Songwriter J.D. Souther recalls co-writing the Hotel California standout "Victim Of Love" with Henley, Frey and Don Felder: "I came in late on that one. They had the track done. That was Don Felder's track, I think. And that was one of those -- they were in Florida at Criteria (Studios) cutting the album, and it was 'J.D., get down here (laughs), we've got a couple of songs that aren't finished.' That happened a couple of times. That happened on that album and The Long Run album. But I think at that time we finished 'New Kid In Town' and we wrote the lyrics to 'Victim Of Love.'"

We asked Joe Walsh what he feels when he's fronting the band and letting loose on one of his signature solos: "It makes me very humble and very grateful. When I do that, everybody, kind of perks up -- and I can feel that. I can feel that energy and I see a lot of people smiling and a lot of people dancing and singing the words. And that makes me wanna play my ass off, and that makes them happy. And that I can make that many people happy with my music, is all the payback I need."

The Eagles will next perform on May 26th in Antwerp, Belgium.
