Timothee Chalamet Talks Batman, Greta Gerwig

Beautiful Boy Timothee Chalamet’s name has been bandied about as the next potential Batman. But when asked by Variety about the possibility of donning a Batsuit on the red carpet, he seemed unaware of the viral Twitter campaign: "What? When? Who said that?" Still, he left open the possibility, saying simply: "The Dark Knight is one of my favorite films." If he did take on the role, he’d follow in the footsteps of Michael Keaton, Val Kilmer, George Clooney, Christian Bale and most recently, Ben Affleck, who is reportedly not interested in the role any longer. ON GRETA GERWIG Regarding his Lady Bird/Little Women director, Greta Gerwig: "They’ve started shooting, they’ve been very nice to me. They’ve basically let me try and get Beautiful Boy out to the world. I would do anything Greta wanted me to be a part of." Little Women also stars Soairse Ronan, Emma Watson, Meryl Streep, Florence Pugh and Bob Odenkirk. "I knew Little Women; I hadn’t read it," Chalamet said. "But I’ve read it since. I understood it to be a literary classic, but it’s crazy, day by day in the rehearsals, I get more imbued in the legend of it all. We’re shooting in the Massachusetts area where it was written, so we have a lot of people on the crew or that are just around that, like, the book is very dear to their heart and to their youths, as well."
