Wendy Williams Addresses Recent Personal Drama
Wendy Williams was (maybe) dating a new, much younger guy for a minute, and she knows what ya’ll are thinking. Their assumed dalliance came after 54-year-old talk show mogul split from her husband of 20ish years Kevin Hunter, fired him as exec producer and battled with her sobriety and a host of health issues, all within the course of a year.
She admits that it’s a lot to grapple with, even for her. On Monday, she told viewers of The Wendy Williams Show that she’s rolling with it, and while she has split from the 27-year-old convicted felon and moved on with a doctor in his 50s, she’s still taking it a day at a time.
Williams said: "I’m not on the market anymore. I’m not in love but there’s somebody that I’m crazy about," she said, holding back tears.
She added: "I know, I know. Alight, listen. It’s not who you think. OK? Mother doesn’t deal with children."
She continued: "27-year-old boys, quite frankly, find me attractive. I get it, but when it comes time for the comfort of a man I need someone in his 50s, too, and he’s gotta work. It helps that he’s a doctor. He’s been married. His kids are in their 20s, and yes he’s black. He’s brown-black."
Williams also weighed in the drama between her ex Kevin Hunter and her son, Kevin Hunter Jr., who allegedly assaulted him during a disagreement shortly after their split.
She said: "My family is doing fine."
Kevin Hunter Jr. will appear in court today (Tuesday) to address the assault.
She also revealed a new diagnosis following her previous diagnosis of Graves disease.
"Lymphoedema, by the way, I’ve been diagnosed," she told the crowd on Monday, explaining recent tabloid images of her puffy ankles. "It’s not going to kill me, but I do have a machine — and how dare you talk about the swelling of it all."
Lymphoedema is a chronic condition that can cause swelling when someone’s lymphatic system is compromised.
