Attempted Murder Suspect Set to Stand Trial

Charles William Maskell will stand trial later this month on the charge of attempted murder.

RCMP first arrested the West Kelowna man on the afternoon of December 2nd, 2016, after another man had been shot. The victim, Robert Delve, was taken to a hospital to be treated for serious non-life threatening injuries.

One other male, age 33, was also arrested at the scene, but faces no charges at this time.

Maskell, who had no prior criminal record before the incident, now faces charges for attempted murder, unlawfully possessing and discharging a firearm, and aggravated assault.

Upon searching the suspect's residence, police also found evidence that suggested the house was being used in illegal drug trafficking, namely coccaine and GHB.

Maskell will stand trial on Monday, January 29th, at 10 a.m.
