Two major announcements which will have a lasting impact on penticton and the entire South Okanagan.
Penticton was the health centre of BC Friday.
Health Minister Adrian Dix was in Penticton for two major announcements.
The day began at the Penticton Community Centre...with the unvieling of a primary-care network.
The provincial government is providing approximately $4.4 million in annual funding to the South Okanagan Similkameen region.
Over the next three years, up to 22 new health-care providers will be recruited to work in the PCN.
The PCN will work toward opening a new team-based care clinic in Penticton, Summerland and Okanagan Falls by 2020.
Then...Friday Afternoon...Dix was at PRH for the opening of the new David E Kampe Tower at Penticton Regional Hospital.
The new tower opens for patient care April 29.
