Alleged convenience store robber caught

Kelowna RCMP have taken down a man accused of robbing multiple convenience stores.

In less than a week, three different robberies were reported to police. All three involved a suspect posing as a customer who then stole cash from the register after it was opened.

In the most recent case, the man was reportedly wielding a knife at the Mac's Store on Glenmore Road.

Plain clothes officers were able to track down the suspect before a tactical team moved in to arrest him.

It turns out the 23-year-old Kelowna man was also wanted on a province-wide arrest warrant.

He is expected to appear in court on Thursday where he will likely face a number of criminal charges.

An unknown woman who was also arrested in the takedown was later released.
