Autism awareness

This is World Autism Day.

Autism Okanagan President Tracey Vrecko says 1 in 68 children in BC are being diagnosed, predominantly in boys.

"It is a neurological disorder. It can present itself with delay in speech, different behaviours. A big one is sensitivity to light and sound. Sensitivity really to all of our senses."

Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran recently signed a proclamation declaring April 2nd as Autism Awareness Day.
