BC Housing issues RFP for Glenmore affordable housing
The provincial government is looking for a local social profit to take the lead on a multi-million dollar affordable housing project.
BC Housing has posted a Request for Proposals for the 18-20 unit project planned for Drysdale Boulevard in Glenmore.
And it's looking for one local non-profit to handle all three phases of the project - the design, the construction and the ongoing property management.
The RFP calls for the project to be made up of two and three bedroom units, and will get provincial funding to the tune of 2.4 million dollars.
When the project was originally announced, BC Housing said it would find interested social profits through a request for an expression of interest.
But the ministry bypassed that step, going straight to the RFP process, which it says is what usually happens when the location of a project is already known.
Coming up this week, BC Housing will be hosting an information session for social profits who are interested in submitting a bid for the project.
It'll be in council chambers on Thursday at 1pm, with the deadline on the RFP set for April 27.
