Farmer's Market Back Outdoors

The Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market heads outside for the first time this spring, on Saturday, April 7th. The markets run 8am to 1pm every Saturday until November 3rd, on the corner of Springfield Road and Dilworth Drive.

Market Co-ordinator, Frances Callaghan predicts the weather will play a part. “We were starting around 100 but with the weather that could change a little bit.  Anywhere between 60 to 80 vendors.”  Further along in the summer season the market can get up to 200 vendors at the Saturday market.

Changes are also expected for the satellite version of the Kelowna Farmer’s and Crafter’s Market.  The downtown market, on Bernard Avenue, debuted last year and was held on Saturdays.  “It did really well last year,” tells Callaghan.  “This year we’ve already got more interest because we want to switch the date from Saturday to Sunday.  Because of that we’ll end up having more farmers.”  She says the time will also be adjusted from an 8am start to 10am for the downtown market.

Both the downtown market and the Wednesday markets will be up and running mid-June.  Callaghan couldn’t confirm which specific dates because details still need to be worked out.
