Fire Breaks out in Rutland Home

Kelowna fire crews had a busy afternoon when a fire was reported at around 12:27 pm.

17 personnel, 3 fire engines, and 1 safety vehicle arrived at the scene to battle the blaze, which was coming from a house on Hollydell Road in the Rutland area.

1 person is in hospital with unknown injuries, and 5 are being assisted by ESS with temporary lodging.

The exact cause of the fire is unknown at this time, although smoking may have been a factor.
