Kelowna hockey player dies in Seadoo accident
A Kelowna hockey player had alcohol in his system when he was killed while operating a Seadoo in Florida.
Those are the finding of authorities, who just now, completed an investigation into the September 2016 accident that claimed the life of Craig Butz.
Butz died when the watercraft he was operating collided with a 36-foot boat on a Florida channel.
His four-year-old daughter was critically hurt in the incident.
The 52 year-old's blood alcohol level was twice the legal limit for a driver in Florida and died of blunt head trauma.
Butz played two seasons with the Kelowna Wings from 1982 to 1984.
