Legion donates 100K to JoeAnna's House

The latest donation to JoeAnna’s House – a total of $100,000 - comes from the Kelowna Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion.

JoeAnna’s house is designed to be a home away from home for out-of-town families staying with their loved ones while they receive treatment at KGH. Construction is expected to be complete by late 2019.

“We were very moved when we heard about the need for JoeAnna’s House,” says Jim White, President of the RCL Branch 26.  “This project represents the values that we hold very dear – that as a community, it is our duty to take care of one another in the darkest times.”

The Legion has been a long time donor to KGH over the years. In 2008, they donated $50,000 over two years to advance care for children and seniors.

Through their annual poppy campaign, the Legion raises approximately $175,000 every year.
