Memorial for Kelowna teacher
A Kelowna elementary school teacher will be remembered on Friday, June 8th.
Tayah Lloyd was travelling with her husband Justin to Vancouver on May 26th to shop for baby furniture when their vehicle was struck head-on by a pickup truck on Highway 1 near Bridal Falls. She and her unborn child were killed in the crash, while her husband and the driver of the other vehicle were sent to hospital.
She was a teacher at Anne McClymont Elementary School in Kelowna.
Family and friends will gather to honor Tayah at 3:30 p.m. at the Okanagan Lavender Farm on Saucier Road . Instead of flowers, Tayah’s family is asking people to make a donation to the World Wildlife Foundation, which was dear to her heart. A GoFundMe account has been set up to help her husband, Justin Lloyd, who survived the crash. Over $23,000 has been raised.
