New mobile dog park finder launched

Finding the locations of dog parks and beaches in the Central Okanagan has gotten easier.

The Regional District of Central Okanagan has released a new mobile dog park finder. It’s a new addition to their already existing My Dog Matters phone app, which was launched a number of months ago.

“There’s over 230 parks in Kelowna, West Kelowna, Peachland, Lake Country, and the two electoral areas that do allow dogs in certain parts of the park or all of the park,” says Communications Officer Bruce Smith “And it also highlights the various dog parks that are available and dog beaches.”

The app feature also provides directions to any of the parks and lists rules for each park.

“Where it’s on or off leach or there’s a dog beach access area,” says Smith.

About 5,000 dog owners have downloaded the My Dog Matters app.
