OKM grad directs feature film in Kelowna
'The Colour Rose' is an independent feature film that has been shooting in the Okanagan over the past month.
Produced by Neon Cinema Films and directed by Courtney Paige, the film is a thriller about seven high school girls who start a cult each embodying one of the seven deadly sins. The girls realize there's more to their religious town after their best friend goes missing.
'The Color Rose' has attracted some high profile actors to Kelowna, including: Kaitlyn Bernard (The Professor, acting alongside Jonny Depp and Zoey Deutch), Lochlyn Munro (Riverdale, A Night at the Roxbury), Dylan Playfair (Letterkenny, Disney's Descendants 2, Some Assembly Required), and Aleks Paunovic (Van Helsing).
Filming has occurred throughout Kelowna and the surrounding area. Audiences will recognize scenes from the Benvoulin Church, Father Pandosy Mission, BNA Brewing Co. & Eatery and Venture Academy.
Director Courtney Paige commented, "It has been a pleasure working with the cast and crew here in Kelowna over the past 4-weeks. We have enjoyed the beautiful weather, stunning landscapes and hospitality of all those we have encountered".
Paige, who grew up in Kelowna, is a graduate of OKM Secondary.
