Power restored for 3500+ in West Kelowna

A trip in a power line caused 3,500 West Kelowna residents to be without power for about an hour this morning.

BC Hydro spokesperson Dag Sharman says the power went out at 9:00am, although crews weren't able to determine what caused it.

“What happened is the line tripped so the power went off to the line and so our crews patrolled all along that line from beginning to end to see what it was that caused that outage,” he says “but they didn’t find anything, which happens from time to time”

Power was restored at around 10am.
