RCMP probe alleged hit and run in Kelowna

Local RCMP are appealing to the public for information, as police continue to investigate a cyclist involved collision in Kelowna.

Witnesses say a woman was cycling east along the 1300-block of Bernard Avenue when she was allegedly struck by a vehicle. According to police, the victim sustained non-life threatening injuries, which required medical treatment.

The incident occurred on Wednesday July 10th, although it wasn't reported to police until the following morning. Now investigators are trying to track down the vehicle involved, described as a red Ford Mustang, possibly a 2006 or 2007 model year, with a back convertible soft top.

The Mustang convertible reportedly fled from the scene west along Bernard Avenue and was last seen turning onto Richmond Street.

Anyone with information related to the incident is asked to call the Kelowna RCMP at 250-762-3300.
