Still no pot shop applications
It's been a month since the City of Kelowna started accepting pot shop applications, and they have yet to actually receive a single one.
"We've had probably several dozen pre-application meetings with potential applicants," says Community Planning Manager Ryan Smith. "Some of them want to make sure that their applications remain secret until the last minute, and some of them are just taking the time to put the best application possible together."
The application period began on October 1st and will continue until November 30th.
Smith says he expects a total of 25 to 45 pot shop applications by the end of November.
The cost just to apply for a pot shop is $1,000, plus an additional $9,500 if it's approved for the rezoning process.
