Virtual unknown wants to be mayor
Kelowna Mayor Colin Basran will not run uncontested in the next municipal election.
City Hall has confirmed Josh Hoggan has picked up his election papers for mayor.
A virtual unknown, Hoggan has no prior political career but is running on the premise that, if elected, he will forfeit the mayors salary.
Basran currently receives just under $96 thousand dollars for his services while councillors receive $33 grand.
The deadline to submit intentions to run for mayor is September 14th at 4 p.m.
